Earlier held senior positions in banking and finance, including Vice President and General Cashier of American Express Paris and General Manager, Overseas Development. He has been Vice President of the Board and Chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee of WISeKey. Extensive experience in policy making to facilitate international trade.

Began his career as a United Nations expert on information technology, e-security and trust models, working from 1983 to 1998 for the ILO, UNCTAD, ITC/WTO, the World Bank, UNDP and ESCAP.

An early pioneer of digital identity. From 1995 to 1999 Adjunct Professor and Head of the Trade Efficiency Lab at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Founded WISeKey in 1999 and is its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Member of the UN Global Compact and the Clinton Global Initiative; World Economic Forum founding member of Global Growth Companies. Author of The TransHuman Code.
